YOUTH SERVICES

A weekly  program to introduce children  to the wonder of stories and the library.

For children from birth to four years old.

Animated Train

 

Toddlers and children up to age five, visit with us for story time at the library.  The programs last about 30 minutes.  No registration is required.

Some of the fun things included are:

Children's Area Book Bins
  • Stories

  • Puppetry

  • Fingerplays

  • Action rhymes

  • Flannel board stories

  • Film strips

  • Child participation

  • Simple crafts

 

Storytime offers an enjoyable group experience and a chance to develop listening skills, small motor skills, and self-control, in a warm and enriching setting, all of which are necessary for school success. It is also a

wonderful time for moms, dads, grandparents,

and caregivers to talk to one another and share

experiences.

CHILDREN'S AREA

 

Our children's area has lots of great books! 

Most of the material may be borrowed for

two weeks and renewed, if necessary. 

The library offers: 

 

 

  • Newberry and Caldecott Award books  

  • Magazines 

  • Step-Into-Reading books--reading level and  age appropriate books

  • Computers with games

  • Picture books

YOUNG ADULTS

The library also has a young adult area with a quiet place to study and read.  Most of the material may be checked out with the exception of reference material.  Also included in the young adult area are:

  • Fiction books

  • Non-fiction books

  • Magazines

  • Computers (Internet)

  • Encyclopedias
